Dear Faculty Sponsor: 

One of your students is applying to the Oregon State University Research Experience for Undergraduates program. 
During this intensive eight-week program, students work on research projects under faculty supervision. They also 
attend a seminar covering a variety of mathematical topics. We try to give the students a good introduction to 
mathematics as a scholarly discipline and as an exciting profession. We would appreciate your brief answers to the 
following three questions concerning the applicant.
