2008 REU Program at Oregon State University

Program Dates: Program dates are June 23 - August 15, 2008.
Note: Deadline for consideration in first round offers is February 20, 2008.

April 9th - As of today, all ten positions for the summer are filled. We will be keeping applications on file in case openings occur later this Spring.

ONLINE APPLICATION FORM INSTRUCTIONS

For your application to be complete, you must

  1. Complete the online Application Form.
  2. Write a short note below telling us why you want to participate in the program and what you currently see as your future plans. This note may be submitted using the provided online form for Form for Note One.
  3. Write a second short note telling us the deepest or most interesting mathematical result you know and perhaps explain something about its proof and/or applications. This note may be submitted using the provided online form for Form for Note Two.
  4. Send us a transcript of your college course-work (unofficial transcripts are acceptable).
    The preferred method to submit this is an e-mail pdf attachment to
    math_reu at science dot oregonstate dot edu
  5. Ask two faculty members who know you well to complete a copy of the Recommendation Form form and send it to us.
Please note that the two requested notes do not require lengthy essays. One page is sufficient for each note.

Also note that National Science Foundation rules limit the program to U.S. citizens or permanent residents.

The transcripts and letters of recommendation should be e-mailed or sent to:
