The first homework assignment Homework 1
is due on
Wednesday January 16.
Please justify your reasoning clearly and
concisely. Starred problems (k*) are optional and can be turned in for extra
homework credit.
The second homework assignment consists of the following problems from
our textbook: Section 4.14 (7); Section 4.5 (4,5,7,8); Section 4.6 (2*, 4,
8*, 9). As always, starred problems (k*) are optional. This homework
assignment is due on Friday January 27.
MTH 464 will not meet on Monday January 23. The scheduled office hours
that day are also cancelled. There is a substitute office hour scheduled
from 1:30-2:30 on Wednesday
January 25. Please feel to email with homework questions.
The third homework is due on Friday February 3. All problems are from Section 4.7 of our text:

The in-class midterm is scheduled for Friday March 3.
The midterm has been returned. Students can redo problems missed and
receive credit. They are due on Wednesday March 15.
There will be one final set of homework problems that will be assigned
by March 14. They will be due by Wednesday March 22. There is no final exam.
